This is not regular "talk therapy." After receiving IFS therapy for myself, I decided this is the model I want to share with clients because it is powerful, empowering of the individual, and holds the potential for permanent healing, and is evidenced-based. Created by Richard Schwartz, PhD, IFS helps us focus on our inner world of "parts" to calm distress and heal trauma in all its forms. I am a Certified IFS therapist, Level 2 trained. In 2025 I trained in Presence Psychotherapy with Michelle Lepak and I am grateful for her model of therapy both personally and professionally. Her integrative trauma therapy model is something I encourage all in the IFS community and beyond to explore. When I began using Presence Psychotherapy techniques in my work, one of my clients told me, "it adds a layer of safety I didn't even know was missing."

I was born into a white, cisgender female body in a middle class family that emphasized education, and I want to acknowledge the privileges I have had because of that. I am not a member of any organized religion currently but do believe spirituality is a component of our humanity. In college I first majored in Religion at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. Later, I earned a BS in Nursing from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and worked as a RN for 7 years in settings from a Burn/Trauma ICU to community health. For grad school I attended the University of Montana and have a MA in Counselor Education.
It took me a while, but I am grateful to have found a career and therapy models that fit who I am and who I want to become. I am a Certified IFS therapist and have completed level 2 IFS trainings. I have been a client of IFS therapy myself for many years. Working on my own issues means that I can live and be present for others in a more genuine manner. I believe we need each other. I feel we are connected to one another in ways we are just beginning to understand.
I charge $160 for a 60 minute session.
I take most insurance plans including BCBS, Cigna, Medicaid, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, TriWest. I am unfortunately unable to bill Medicare. You can call your insurance company to ask if I am an in-network provider.
Also I provide pro bono services for up to 15% of my clients.
